The Worship Portal started because we needed better resources for our own church. What began with a few lyric videos has grown into a library of tracks, tools, and planning resources helping worship teams prepare for Sunday.
It started with "Forever"
In 2015, Jon was serving at a small church and creating worship resources for his own team. One of the first was "Forever (We Sing Hallelujah)."
He began sharing those resources online through a YouTube channel called Small Church Worship. Other worship leaders started finding them, using them, and asking for more.
What started as something Jon was making for his own church slowly became something much bigger.
How we got here.
2015
Small Church Worship
The YouTube channel begins as Small Church Worship, where Jon creates worship resources for his own team and starts sharing them with other churches online.
2019
Every Key, Every Church
The YouTube channel was renamed to The Worship Portal, and Jon started releasing tracks in all 12 keys, starting with "Do It Again." What began as resources for one worship team started reaching churches everywhere.
2021
Beyond YouTube
The Worship Portal website launches, expanding beyond YouTube with downloadable resources, Multitracks, Instrumentals, Lyric Videos, and more.
2026
The Worship Portal Today
Pro Membership and My Worship Portal launch, expanding The Worship Portal from a resource library into a complete ecosystem for accessing tracks, planning services, preparing teams, and practicing for Sunday.
