Download & Licensing Terms
Last Updated: August 30, 2026
These Download & Licensing Terms govern digital products obtained from The Worship Portal, whether purchased individually or accessed through a membership.
These terms apply in addition to The Worship Portal Terms of Service.
1. License, Not Ownership
Purchasing or downloading a product from The Worship Portal gives you permission to use that product under these terms.
The purchase does not transfer ownership of the recording, arrangement, production, video, template, software, design, or other intellectual property contained in the product.
2. Permitted Worship Use
Unless a product states otherwise, The Worship Portal resources may be used to support worship ministry activities, including:
- Church worship services
- Worship-team rehearsals
- Ministry events
- Church presentations
- Church livestreams and service broadcasts, subject to the church obtaining any licenses required for the underlying song or composition
Resources may be used as accompaniment or production support in the context of the applicable church or ministry use.
3. Streaming and Broadcasting
The Worship Portal's license covers permission to use The Worship Portal's supplied recording or production in accordance with these terms.
It does not replace licenses or permissions that may be required for the underlying song, composition, lyrics, publishing rights, or other third-party intellectual property.
The church, ministry, or user is responsible for obtaining any required licenses for its use, livestream, recording, reproduction, or broadcast of the underlying copyrighted work.
4. Pro Membership Downloads
Products downloaded through an active Pro Membership may be used according to the license provided at the time they are downloaded.
A member may continue using previously downloaded products for qualifying worship uses after ending their membership.
However, use of The Worship Portal recordings in NEW livestreams, broadcasts, or newly published online service content requires an active Pro Membership at the time that new stream or publication is created, unless the product was separately purchased or The Worship Portal expressly states otherwise.
Previously published streams created while the membership was active do not need to be removed solely because the membership later ends.
5. Prohibited Redistribution
You may not:
- Resell The Worship Portal files
- Upload or distribute the original files for others to download
- Share download links or protected file-access links
- Upload isolated The Worship Portal tracks, stems, videos, or resources as standalone content
- Repackage The Worship Portal files into another downloadable product
- Include the raw files in a resource library, subscription, marketplace, or file-sharing service
- Distribute the files to allow another church, organization, or unrelated user to avoid purchasing their own appropriate access
6. Multitracks and Stems
Multitrack files and individual stems may be used as production and accompaniment resources for permitted worship uses.
Individual stems or reconstructed mixes may not be redistributed, resold, or published as standalone downloadable audio resources.
7. Lyric Videos
Lyric videos may be used as visual support for qualifying worship services and ministry activities.
Users remain responsible for obtaining any licenses required for displaying or reproducing copyrighted lyrics and compositions.
The original lyric-video file may not be resold, redistributed, or made available as a standalone download.
8. Templates, Software Resources, and Production Materials
Templates, project files, sound resources, and other production materials may contain additional product-specific terms.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, these resources are licensed to the purchaser for their own ministry or production use and may not be redistributed or resold in their original or substantially extractable form.
9. Modifications
You may make reasonable modifications necessary for a permitted worship or production use, such as:
- Adjusting levels
- Editing arrangement length
- Transposing where technically possible
- Combining resources with live musicians
- Incorporating the resource into a church worship-service production
Modification does not create ownership of the underlying The Worship Portal resource or permit redistribution of the modified resource as a standalone product.
10. Copyright in the Underlying Song
Many products available through The Worship Portal relate to songs written or owned by third parties.
The Worship Portal does not grant ownership of, or licenses to, third-party compositions, lyrics, publishing rights, or other rights beyond the rights The Worship Portal is authorized to provide in its own recording, arrangement, production, or resource.
Users and churches are responsible for maintaining any appropriate licenses required for their intended use.
11. Unauthorized Use
Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, resale, file sharing, or circumvention of download restrictions may result in suspension or termination of access to The Worship Portal services.
The Worship Portal reserves all rights not expressly granted under these terms.
12. Questions
If you are unsure whether a particular use is permitted, contact us before distributing or publishing the material.
